Board of Directors

Mr. Sato joined the SchoolsFirst FCU Board of Directors in October 2020, after serving as an Associate Director following the merger with Schools Financial Credit Union in January 2020. At Schools Financial Credit Union, he served on the Board of Directors since 2015, and Treasurer since 2017. He also served on the Executive Committee, the Asset/Liability, Cybersecurity and Savings, Loans, Products & Services Committees. In 2017, he served on the Nominating Committee as well as various other committees. He holds a Certified Credit Union Board Member (CCUB) designation from America's Credit Unions, a trade association for state and federally chartered credit unions. He also holds a Cybersecurity Directorship certification from National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and a Cyber Risk & Strategy certification from the Diligent Institute. Mr. Sato earned his bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting. Mr. Sato brings a strong financial background, having spent his career working as a Certified Public Accountant and auditor for a number of businesses including educational and financial institutions. Mr. Sato served at the educational community college level and is the owner of a CPA firm.
