  • A form of identification for your child (birth certificate, student ID, passport).
  • Their Social Security number.

Official Sweepstakes Rules

Jan. 15 – Feb. 28, 2025

 

  1. NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS SWEEPSTAKES.

  2. PURCHASE DOES NOT IMPROVE AN INDIVIDUAL'S CHANCES OF WINNING.

  3. Each sweepstakes entry will have an equal chance of winning. Odds of winning will depend on the number of entries received.

  4. Prize: One (1) $1,000 College Saver Share Certificate will be awarded to five (5) eligible youth winners within 60 days of selection. The value of the prize is $1,000 each. No prize substitution is allowed. The prize will be deposited into a 12-month College Saver Share Certificate in the name of the minor (winner), with the parent/legal guardian as joint owner.

  6. Sweepstakes Period: Sweepstakes runs Jan. 15 – Feb. 28. All qualifying entries must be completed and received by 11:59 p.m. PST on Feb. 28, 2025.

  7. Eligibility: The sweepstakes is open to SchoolsFirst FCU Members and non-Members who are eligible for Membership. By entering this sweepstakes, entrants accept and agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Credit Union. Sweepstakes void where prohibited by law. Members of SchoolsFirst FCU's Official Family (team members, officials and volunteers) and members of their immediate families are not eligible to participate in the sweepstakes. Anyone not complying with the official rules will be disqualified and is not eligible to win a prize.

  8. How to Enter: Open a Youth Membership between Jan. 15 – Feb. 28, 2025 and be automatically entered into the Kickoff Your Savings Youth Membership Referral Sweepstakes. The new Membership must be established using the parent or guardian's referring account to qualify for entry. An alternate entry may be made by a SchoolsFirst FCU Member or eligible non-Member by printing their full name, address, daytime telephone number and the name of the referred family member or the name of the referring current SchoolsFirst FCU Member on a 3” x 5” card and mailing the card in a sealed envelope to: SchoolsFirst FCU, Attention: Kickoff Your Savings Youth Membership Referral Sweepstakes, P.O. Box 11547, Santa Ana, CA 92711-1547. Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. PST on Feb. 28, 2025. If the entrant is a minor, please include minor's full name, along with parent/legal guardian's full name with signature consent. Limit one alternate entry per person. The Credit Union is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, misdirected, damaged, postage-due, or illegible entries. Once submitted, entries become the sole property of the Credit Union and will not be acknowledged or returned. The maximum entries per eligible entrant is one [1] by all methods combined.

  9. Drawing and Member Notification: Five (5) entries will be selected the week of March 3, 2025. Winners need not be present to win, and will be notified by phone, secure message through Online and Mobile Banking, or mail with details on receiving their prize. If a sweepstakes entry is drawn, but judges are unable to determine the winners because of inaccurate, illegible or missing information, that entry will be disqualified. If a winner cannot be contacted or the parent or guardian fails to sign the Prize Acceptance Agreement form within 30 days of notice, the winner forfeits the prize. In the event the winner forfeits the prize, an alternative winner will be selected from among all remaining eligible entries. The parent or guardian must sign a Prize Acceptance Form to receive the prize. Anyone not complying with the Official Rules will be disqualified and is not eligible to win a prize.

  10. Liability: Entrant agrees to hold the Credit Union and its officers, directors, employees and representatives harmless from any liability arising from the participation in the sweepstakes or the acceptance, receipt, possession, or use/misuse of the prize.

  11. Privacy: Your participation in this sweepstakes constitutes your consent for SchoolsFirst FCU to use your personal information for the purpose of administering the sweepstakes and awarding the prizes.   12. Taxes: The Credit Union will report all prize winnings to the appropriate state and federal agencies as required by law. Winner is responsible for all tax consequences (if any) of the prize.

  13. Arbitration: Except where prohibited by law, as a condition of participating in this sweepstakes, entrant agrees that any and all disputes and causes of action arising out of or connected with this sweepstakes, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by final and binding arbitration under the JAMS Consumer Arbitration rules and held either remotely or at the JAMS office nearest to your county of residence. Judgment upon such arbitration award may be entered in any court having jurisdiction. Under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, or any other damages, including attorney's fees, other than entrant's actual out-of-pocket expenses (i.e., costs associated with entering sweepstakes), and entrant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.

  14. Choice of Law: All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of entrant and the Credit Union in connection with the sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the substantive laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to choice of law rule.
